History and Vision

DL Planning Technologies was established in early 2009 as a sole proprietorship in Washington, DC by David Lutz to provide transportation planning firms with GIS services to help carry out their missions. Today DL Planning Technologies has grown to provide its clients with additional planning support services and IT solutions.

Mr. Lutz’s mission in forming DL Planning Technologies is to help improve data management for communities and promote effective land use, development, and structure design through mapping and other information technologies.

As we look to the future DL Planning Technologies will to continue to strive in assisting mission driven organizations with up to date GIS and IT solutions in our ever changing industry and provide communities with the best viable urban planning solutions and initiatives.

As a consultant and organizational trainer who is passionate about the urban environment, David Lutz has become widely known for providing community and municipal organizations with GIS consulting and training to help aid in revitalizing their downtown districts and regional retail centers and provide information to the public.

He specializes in the coordination of GIS and community planning strategies, plans and database management, to help bring successful beneficial change to existing infrastructure.

His professional experience in planning, GIS and IT spans multiple facets of program development, strategy, data base management, and map creation in the fields of economic development, federal planning, municipal planning, transportation, aviation, crime analysis, city broadband service analysis, streetscape, and urban design.
